Scott Martindale
Scott Martindale is SCCWRP’s Communications Director. He is responsible for developing, executing and advancing an agency communications strategy that maximizes the reach and impact of SCCWRP’s work in the aquatic sciences. He leads staff and research partners in developing clear, actionable messaging around emerging science – notably, communicating the potential management decisions and actions that flow from the agency’s work. Skilled at interfacing with both technical and non-technical audiences, Scott prioritizes building a broad range of mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships that reinforce SCCWRP’s role as a scientific consensus-builder and facilitator of high-quality, managerially actionable research. He manages the quarterly SCCWRP Director’s Report newsletter, the Annual Report, and all external requests for information, including public records requests.
Scott is a former journalist who holds a B.S. in biology and M.A. in journalism, both from the University of Southern California. He joined SCCWRP in 2014.
